The 1st International Workshop on Smart Solutions for Security and Privacy in the Edge-Cloud Continuum (S3PEC) is a new forum for researchers, industry leaders, and security professionals to explore cutting-edge approaches in safeguarding distributed computing environments. Co-located with SMARTCOMP 2025, the workshop focuses on the unique security and privacy challenges of integrating IoT, Edge, and Cloud infrastructures.
As smart environments become more dynamic and interconnected, the need for robust, AI-driven security and scalable privacy solutions grows ever more urgent. From privacy-aware computing and federated learning to zero-trust architectures and secure identity management, S3PEC addresses the pressing issues shaping the future of secure digital ecosystems.
Keynote
Marc O'Regan
Chief Technology Officer, EMEA at Dell Technologies
"Harnessing GenAI for Secure and Resilient Edge-Cloud Solutions: Shaping the Future of Distributed Systems"
Focus Areas
S3PEC invites discussion and contributions on a wide array of relevant topics, including:
- Privacy-aware computing across distributed systems
- Federated and distributed learning for real-time threat detection
- Zero-trust architectures for secure IoT integration
- Collaborative threat intelligence and secure data sharing
- Identity and access management for Edge and Cloud environments
- Scalable frameworks for secure communication in the Edge-Cloud continuum
This workshop serves as a bridge between academic research and industrial application, encouraging papers that propose both theoretical innovations and practical implementations.
